Mrs. Karen Maier (UL Only) To All Instructors

Karen has been a homeschool mom since 2001, graduating 5 out of 7 of her children so far. Her family was part of Learning Station Co-op for 10 years where she taught elementary art classes. She has been sewing on and off for 25 years - sewing costumes for the last 8. While sewing for Learning Station dramas and Cavod Academy ballet performances, she discovered a passion for creating costumes. Karen has created prom dresses, kimono, movie characters, and anime characters. She has received awards for several of her costumes. Transforming fabric into beautiful costumes is rewarding, satisfying, and fun, and she would love to share her love of patterns, fabrics, trims, and sewing with others.  (2025-26)
