KEY Terms to Understanding the Grid

SESSIONS- Sessions are essentially the time period the class is held.

  • Session 1 classes are held from 9:20-10:20am
  • Session 2 classes are held from 10:25-11:55am
  • Session 3 classes are held from 12:50-1:50pm
  • Session 4 classes are held from 1:55-2:55pm
  • Session 5 classes are held from 3:00-4:00pm

OPTIONS - Options are the classes provided during that session/time period

ULA vs ULB-

  • ULA classes are to signify the classes that are taught by our Independently Contracted Teachers.  These are professionals in their fields who are teaching the classes. They set the cost of the classes and you will pay them the class fee directly.
  • ULB classes are classes that are taught by parents who are participating in Co-op track.  They are parents who have an expertise and passion for teaching a particular subject.

ACADEMIC vs ENRICHMENT

Classes labeled “ACADEMIC” are expected to meet the hour or textbook requirements for a half or whole credit*.   All other classes will be labeled ENRICHMENT.  That does not mean that they have no credit value, but rather that they would likely need to be bundled with other classes or coursework to meet the standard of a half or whole high school credit.  Some enrichment classes like PE, music, art, safety, health, etc.  are designed to meet the 7th-12th  ‘checklist’  subjects that do not have minimum credit requirements assigned.

FEES

  • Class Fee is what you will pay for the class.  This also covers basic supplies for the teachers.  Some teachers will add on an additional supply or textbook fee if needed.
  • Registration Fee is $10 per a class per a semester.  A year long class covers 2 semesters, so the registration fee will be $20.
  • Opt- out Fee refers to Monitoring.  There is a $20 per a class per a semester fee if you opt out of Monitoring.  More information regarding monitoring can be provided.

WAITLIST

Some of our popular classes will likely have waitlists.  While we can not guarantee that a spot will become available, there are times when changes are made for a variety of reasons and a spot becomes available.  If you sign up for a waitlist, we will notify you if a student drops out of that class.
